Zach Boulden is a healthcare attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office. He has extensive experience representing healthcare providers in government investigations and False Claims Act (FCA) litigation across the country. Mr. Boulden has also litigated in state courts nationwide, representing healthcare providers in physician buyout and non-compete disputes. In addition, Mr. Boulden represents healthcare providers in complex Medicare audits and appeals and commercial payer disputes.

- Won a motion to dismiss on behalf of one of the nation's premier hospitals in California federal court and obtained evidentiary and monetary sanctions against the physician whistleblower
- Won a motion to dismiss before discovery commenced on behalf of a cardiology practice in federal court in Puerto Rico
- Represented a nationwide physical therapy provider in an FCA investigation in Michigan; negotiated a favorable settlement with the government and without imposition of a corporate integrity agreement (CIA)
- Successfully overturned a $22 million overpayment against a Michigan inpatient psychiatric hospital resulting from a Unified Program Integrity Contractor (UPIC) audit; reduced to $79,000 through the Medicare appeals process
- Successfully reduced a $485,000 overpayment against a Texas hospice provider resulting from a UPIC audit to $67,000 through the appeals process and settlement negotiations
- Won an appeal affirming a complete defense verdict at trial in California state court on behalf of an ambulatory surgery center company, defeating the first-ever attempt to apply California's anti-forfeiture statute to a limited liability company (LLC) buyout provision
- Won a complete defense verdict in arbitration in Arizona on behalf of an ambulatory surgery center company stemming from termination and equity buy-back from a physician for failing to meet productivity thresholds; overcame COVID-19 force majeure arguments to uphold termination and buy-back
