Overview
John David Colter is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Monterrey office who focuses his practice on business law, corporate transactions and intellectual property.
Mr. Colter advises national and foreign clients across a variety of industries on the legal and regulatory aspects of establishing, structuring, operating and expanding their businesses in Mexico.
Mr. Colter has extensive experience drafting and negotiating shareholders' agreements, stock purchase and subscription agreements, joint venture arrangements and cross-border investment vehicles. His transactional work often involves coordinating with notaries, fiduciary institutions and regulatory authorities to ensure full compliance with foreign investment, antitrust and sector-specific requirements. In addition, Mr. Colter assists with the formation and restructuring of Mexican entities, as well as foreign investment compliance, corporate governance and strategic partnerships.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Colter acted as primary counsel to multiple foreign investors and multinational companies.
