Overview

Gerami Granello is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Houston office. Mr. Granello provides asset management and leasing representation to institutional real estate funds and advisers in connection with the ownership, operation and management of their office, retail and industrial real estate portfolios across the nation and in Latin America. He has provided extensive representation in connection with build-to-suit office projects for leading technology companies, build-to-suit industrial distribution and fulfillment centers for leading e-commerce companies, rooftop solar leasing and development, and U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) leasing. 

In addition, Mr. Granello represents leading banks, financial services companies and energy companies in connection with the negotiation of their headquarter office leases and management of their real estate portfolios. He also represents developers, funds and advisers in connection with the purchase, sale and financing of all categories of real estate, including raw land, multifamily projects, retail shopping centers, industrial warehouses, office buildings and condominiums. 

Mr. Granello also represents his clients in connection with the granting of licenses and easements, including billboard, construction, pipeline, windmill, railroad, sanitary sewer, utility, cable/internet, public right-of-way, and other private and public access easements.  Mr. Granello is proficient in Italian and Spanish.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Granello was a partner at a global law firm in its Houston office where he helped lead the firm's national asset management and leasing group.

  • Represent institutional real estate investment funds and advisers, as landlords, in an average of 400 new leases and amendments each year in connection with a portfolio of 40 office buildings, industrial projects and shopping centers in all major markets across the United States
  • Represent institutional real estate investment funds and advisers, as owners, in connection with day-to-day asset management matters, including property management agreements, exclusive listing agreements, brokerage commission agreements, subordination agreements, estoppels, telecommunications agreements, license agreements, easement agreements, vendor agreements, storage agreements, default notices and construction contracts
  • Represented various landlords in more than 30 build-to-suit leases for distribution and fulfillment centers with the world's largest e-commerce companies
  • Represented various landlords in multiple build-to-suit office projects with the world's largest technology companies
  • Represented various landlords in connection with dozens of industrial solar panel developments and leasing
  • Represented an energy company, as tenant, in the leasing of 390,000 square feet of office space in San Jose, California
  • Represented an energy company, as tenant, in the leasing of 109,000 square feet of office space at an office tower in downtown Houston
  • Represented a financial services company, as tenant, in the leasing of 47,000 square feet of office space in Scottsdale, Arizona
