Overview

Olufunke O. Leroy is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Philadelphia office, where she counsels clients across the country on a broad range of sophisticated commercial real estate matters, including the acquisition, disposition, leasing, financing and development of commercial real estate.

Ms. Leroy's practice includes:

  • representing owners, purchasers, investors and developers in the purchase, sale and development of real property
  • advising landlords and tenants in retail, industrial, office and ground leasing matters nationally
  • counselling institutional lenders, private equity funds, portfolio companies and investors in commercial finance transactions
  • advising and providing support to the firm's Corporate Services Team, as well as the Mergers and Acquisitions Team, in connection with real estate components of corporate acquisition and sales
  • providing real estate guidance in renewable energy projects
  • assisting clients on zoning and land use matters

Ms. Leroy's engagements span a wide variety of industries, including hospitality, financial services, technology, pharmaceutical and energy. Her clients include commercial developers, owners and operators, property managers, real estate funds, institutional investors and other lenders.

In addition, Ms. Leroy is an alumna of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Pathfinders Program, which consists of more than 300 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners who are committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive legal profession.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Leroy was an associate at a national law firm. She had previously served as a law clerk to the Honorable Randy J. Holland of the Delaware Supreme Court and as a judicial extern to the Honorable Christopher J. Burke of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.

During law school, Ms. Leroy was a copy editor for the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law.

In the community, Ms. Leroy serves on the board of the Homeless Advocacy Project and provides pro bono services through Philadelphia VIP to low-income individuals, families and nonprofits. She has also provided volunteer services to the Wills for Heroes Foundation and the Pennsylvania Innocence Project.

  • Represented a multinational oil and gas corporation in connection with the sale of a refinery comprised of 75 real estate parcels across nearly 1.17 million acres
  • Represented a private equity firm in connection with a $124 million investment into a national car wash operator involving more than 117 leased sites
  • Represented a leading global producer of specialty chemicals for water-intensive industries in connection with its $250 million corporate acquisition involving a 42-acre manufacturing plant, a tableting and packaging facility, and an office lease
  • Represented a leading global alternative investment firm as local Pennsylvania and New Jersey counsel in connection with a $89.75 million portfolio acquisition and financing
  • Represented an investor in connection with a real estate joint venture for the development of a mixed-use project in Philadelphia
  • Represented an institutional investment management firm in connection with the acquisition and leaseback of a 5-acre facility

  • Representation of a major fast food-brand restaurant in connection with the selection, acquisition, leasing and development of new restaurant sites in the Southeast, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic regions
  • Representation of the largest bank and financial services company in the United States in connection with the selection, acquisition and management of retail branches across the U.S.
  • Representation of one of the largest drugstore chains and its affiliates to negotiate and amend leases with landlords at locations across the United States in connection with their Chapter 11 bankruptcy
  • Representation of a leading audio entertainment company in leasing matters nationwide
  • Served as a tenant's counsel for the leasing of industrial and retail space for a national convenience store delivery business
  • Served as landlord's counsel for a special servicer in retail leasing matters
