Overview

Sarah Morain is a litigation attorney in Holland & Knight's Tysons office. Ms. Morain focuses her practice in the areas of complex commercial litigation, corporate and employment litigation.

Ms. Morain regularly appears in state and federal courts on a variety of civil matters, conducts and defends depositions, and prepares and argues dispositive motions. Ms. Morain routinely navigates clients through the modern e-discovery process and handles a variety of discovery disputes.

While in law school, Ms. Morain interned as a law clerk at the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Virginia in the criminal division, where she worked on cases involving violent crime, child exploitation, corruption and civil rights. Ms. Morain also served as an articles editor for the William & Mary Business Law Review.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Morain worked for the Fort Collins, Colorado, Chamber of Commerce as a communications liaison between member businesses and the government advocacy team.

Representative Experience

  • Secured a Delaware trial win for a government contractor/technology client in a post-acquisition dispute involving fraud and breach of contract
  • Represented a national sports team in connection with litigation over the team's confidential and attorney-client privileged information; provided legal guidance on other internal investigations involving the team that were ongoing
