Ana M. Rodríguez is an intellectual property (IP) attorney in Holland & Knight's Bogotá office. Ms. Rodríguez focuses on providing comprehensive legal services related to the protection, management and enforcement of intangible assets. These assets include IP rights such as trademarks, patents, copyrights, industrial designs, trade secrets and matters related to unfair competition.
Ms. Rodríguez has a deep understanding of local and international IP laws, as well as a proactive approach to managing and protecting valuable intangible assets in an increasingly competitive global market. She offers comprehensive advice to national and international clients from various sectors on all aspects of IP law. Her practice includes providing trademark watch services to monitor and protect her clients' brands, managing opposition proceedings against conflicting trademark applications and taking necessary actions in cases of IP infringement. Additionally, Ms. Rodríguez provides strategic guidance in drafting and negotiating contracts, including trademark licensing agreements, assignments of rights, confidentiality agreements and nondisclosure agreements.
Furthermore, Ms. Rodríguez has experience in managing and representing clients in administrative and judicial proceedings before the Superintendency of Industry and Commerce of Colombia. She also has experience managing border enforcement actions before Colombian customs authorities, ensuring that counterfeit products or those infringing on IP rights are prevented from entering the country, thus protecting her clients' rights.
