Marie Kym Smith

Marie Kym Smith is a Washington, D.C., business attorney who focuses on mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Ms. Smith is experienced in buy- and sell-side transactions for strategic buyers and private equity companies. In addition, Ms. Smith counsels clients on a range of other corporate transactional matters.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Smith was associate general counsel for a national full-service medical equipment company, where she worked primarily on acquisitions, corporate governance and related corporate matters. Ms. Smith also has experience working with clients on transactional matters in the banking and entertainment industries in the New York City area.

While in law school, Ms. Smith participated in the Elmore Entrepreneurship Law Clinic (EELC), where she provided business planning and other legal services to Indiana-based entrepreneurs. She also interned for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) in Washington, D.C., and in-house for an investment management company in Seoul, South Korea.
