All Children's Hospital 15th Annual Estate, Tax, Legal & Financial Planning Seminar

Private Wealth Services Partners Bill Lane and Nichole Scott will speak at the All Children's Hospital Annual Estate, Tax, Legal & Financial Planning Seminar.

Mr. Lane will moderate a panel titled "Florida Powers of Attorney: Know the Ropes." This panel will briefly review the background of Florida's new Power of Attorney Act, and will then delve into three discussion topics that collectively should be of great interest to a mixed audience of lawyers, accountants, trust officers, financial planners and insurance planners, addressing legal, practical, and ethical, issues, to wit:

1. What issues should  a lawyer discuss with an estate planning client who is contemplating the drafting and execution of a Power of Attorney as a Principal?
2. What issues should be addressed by a third party provider of goods or services to whom an Agent presents a Power of Attorney prior to acting on the Agent's instructions on behalf of the Principal?
3. What issues should the Agent (and her legal counsel) address once the Agent is called upon to serve on behalf of the Principal under the Power of Attorney?

Ms. Scott will speak on a panel titled "Traditional Estate Planning: Setting A Course and Sailing into the Future." She will describe the tax and non-tax aspects of estate planning and common techniques for transferring wealth.  Ms. Scott will also cover certain unique Florida laws affecting estate planning.
