Tax attorneys Joshua Odintz, Todd Keator and Alan Granwell will participate in the Virtual 2022 Midyear Tax Meeting on January 31 to February 4. The meeting, hosted by the ABA Tax Section, will feature the country's leading tax attorneys and government officials, discussing the latest federal, state, and local tax policies and more.

Mr. Odintz will moderate a panel titled, "US Activities of Foreigners & Tax Treaties" on Friday, February 4, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The panel will discuss global implementation of the OECD/G20 Pillars 1 and 2, including whether and how the U.S. may address the changes by amending its treaties.

Mr. Keator will moderate a panel titled, "Partnerships and Section 1031 Exchanges – Cutting Edge Techniques" on Friday, February 4, from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. This panel will discuss current legal issues and techniques involving partnerships and Section 1031 exchanges, including various alternatives to traditional "drop and swap" structures.

Mr. Granwell will speak on the panel titled, "The New Global Tax Pacts: A Primer & Policy Perspectives on the OECD’s Landmark Pillar I and II “Profits’ Pie” Agreements on Friday, February 4, from 2:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Panelists will first review key elements and criticisms of the global tax pacts, identifying apparent "winners" and "losers." They will then assess the competing tax policy objectives shaping the implementing rules, which the OECD and sovereign jurisdictions are drafting.
