Holland & Knight is proud to attend and participate in the Association of Transportation Law Professionals' (ATLP) 95th Annual Meeting. This gathering attracts legal practitioners, academics and leaders from all modes of transportation across North America, providing a platform to delve into new developments, exchange innovative ideas and forge valuable connections. Throughout the three-day event, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in various panels covering a wide range of topics, fostering a collaborative environment for those immersed in the transportation sector.

Transportation attorneys Jameson Rice and Kristine Little, joined by environmental attorneys Marne Sussman and Emily Lieban, will be speaking on a panel that explores the complex circuit split on motor broker negligence. They will highlight the differing opinions of the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Eleventh and Seventh Circuits versus that of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit regarding the Federal Aviation Administration Authorization Act's (FAAA) role in preempting personal injury or cargo damage claims against brokers.

Maritime attorney Allison Skopec and transportation attorney Kristine Little will be speaking on the "Autonomous Vehicles" panel, focusing on the rapidly evolving technological landscape of autonomous vehicles and their legal implications. They will explore how current laws interact with these innovations, addressing the challenges and considerations for both surface and ocean vehicles and underlining the need for legal frameworks to adapt in step with technological advances.
