Sovereignty in the Cloud: Data Jurisdiction, Commercialized Reconnaissance and Critical Infrastructure

Data privacy attorney Bess Hinson-Greenspan will speak at the Technology, Accountability and Criminality in Transnational International Conflict (TACTIC) Conference, presented by the University of Georgia School of Law. Her session will examine the legal, regulatory and national security challenges that arise when sensitive data is stored on private cloud platforms or made available through commercial data markets, including the risks associated with foreign actors' access to critical infrastructure information, operational data and consumer metadata. The discussion will also explore the implications for data governance, digital privacy, corporate responsibility and state sovereignty as organizations navigate an increasingly interconnected digital landscape.
