Financial services attorneys Chris Phillips and Eamonn Moran and litigation attorney Peter Hardy will participate in the Electronic Transactions Association's (ETA) Payments Compliance Conference in Arlington, Virginia. Sponsored by Holland & Knight, the two-day program will feature roundtable discussions and engaging presentations on the latest in the payments and financial technology (FinTech) industry, from embedded finance to open banking to artificial intelligence.
Chris will speak in multiple sessions during the conference. First, he will join Peter for an in-depth look at the evolution of anti-money laundering (AML) requirements. Together, they will provide an update on AML regulations, enforcement trends and sanctions, beneficial ownership reporting and emerging risks associated with digital transactions and payment technology. Chris will additionally participate in panels on the intersection of prediction markets and financial services regulations as well as what payment companies should know about cannabis banking as federal and state laws shift. For his part, Eamonn will lead a presentation on money transmission, one of the most complicated areas of payments regulation, covering licensing and compliance, new payment models and overlapping state and federal regulatory regimes.
