What to Expect from President Biden's Consumer Advocate
Consumer Protection Defense and Compliance Partner Anthony DiResta was interviewed by Reuters Legal about Rohit Chopra, whom President Joe Biden nominated as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Created in 2011, the bureau's goals are to protect consumers from unfair practices and take action against companies that engage in them. Chopra previously served as an assistant director for the CFPB, and Mr. DiResta has represented clients before him. In the interview, Mr. DiResta recalled his impressions of Chopra and described what companies in the financial services industry should expect from the CFPB with Chopra at the helm. He spoke alongside former CFPB Director Richard Cordray.
