Drinks with The Deal: Holland & Knight's August on Advising Growth Companies

Partner Adam August, who leads Holland & Knight's Corporate, M&A and Securities Practice Group for the Mid-Atlantic Region, was featured on an episode of The Deal's "Drinks with The Deal" podcast. In the wide-ranging interview, Mr. August talks about his career trajectory, focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) for government contractors – including the distinctive aspects of that practice – and the increasing involvement of private equity in the sector. He shared that many of his clients are growth companies that focus on the defense industry or provide services to the federal government and are ultimately planning to sell; noting that entrepreneurs who launch those ventures often return, he quipped that he refers to these sell-side clients as "repeat offenders," and expressed that it is rewarding to represent a client with that level of trust in him and his team. Mr. August additionally reflected on his involvement in Azure Summit Technology's $1.28 billion sale to CACI International Inc. (CACI) last year, which was one of the most rewarding transactions of his career.
