Holland & Knight Alert
Danilo Romero Raad

By means of Resolution No. 77896 of 2020, the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) in Colombia established the value of operational income and/or total domestic assets that should be considered when evaluating the need for conducting merger control.

The SIC set the economic threshold of said income and/or assets to at least 60,000 minimum legal monthly wages, which corresponds to approximately 54,5111,560,000 Colombian pesos (or US$15,547,731), taking into account the increase to the minimum wage imposed by the government. Thus, the threshold that had been set in past years was maintained.
