Bad Climate for Housing
Chapman University
West Coast Land Use and Environmental Group Leader Jennifer Hernandez wrote an article for Chapman University about the impact of California's climate policies on housing affordability. The article contends that climate strategies carried out by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) have exacerbated the state's housing crisis by contributing to high costs and reduced affordability, particularly for low- and middle-income families. Ms. Hernandez emphasizes the need for policy reform that balances environmental goals with the preservation of the "California Dream" that ensures equitable housing opportunities for all.
