Contracts in the Age of AI: Thinking Is Still Mandatory

Corporate attorney Daniel Fajardo wrote an article for Asuntos Legales about the challenges and opportunities that artificial intelligence (AI) presents in contractual work. Mr. Fajardo emphasizes that although AI is a valuable tool to streamline the review and drafting of contracts, it cannot and should not replace the judgment and experience of an attorney. He also warns about the risks of relying too heavily on technology without careful supervision, as well as the importance of understanding legal and regulatory implications, protecting data confidentiality and knowing when it is necessary to be flexible in negotiations so that contracts are solid, enforceable and adapted to the business context.
