Gay Marriage Ruling Brings New Planning Choices

The Supreme Court ruling that same-sex couples are allowed tax advantages and federal benefits has many reconsidering their financial plans. Wealth Planning and Preservation Partner Shari A. Levitan believes that the couples old filings could have a higher chance of being reviewed by the I.R.S.
“It is possible that those returns could be reviewed and audited, they might choose to let sleeping dogs lie,” said Ms. Levitan.
