Crude Oil Production Dropped to 700,000 Barrels Per Day

Portafolio
Energy Senior Counsel Inés Elvira Vesga was interviewed for an article published in the newspaper Portafolio about the drop in the production of crude oil. Ms. Vesga commented on the figures reported by Colombia's National Hydrocarbon Agency (ANH) and stressed that they are connected to the drop in prices, the oversupply and the slowdown in the world economy because of the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"The figures reported by the ANH show a drop of 887,432 [barrels per day (bpd)] from January 1 to 769,680 bpd on April 30, and from now on the decline continues, which means that the country is at similar levels to those of 2010," she explained.
