KPMG Will Be A Magnifying Glass of the SAT

Eugenio Grageda, a partner in the tax practice, commented for El Heraldo de México about the Tax Miscellaneous for 2022, which forces public accountants to become inspectors of the authority. Under this proposal, accountants could be subject to sentences of three months up to six years in prison if any irregularity is found in the tax reports delivered to the Tax Administration Service (SAT).

"All the proposed changes are aimed at strengthening tax control, evasion and avoidance, but in some aspects the authority is making it difficult for companies to operate," he said.
