In this Q&A, Mr. Husbands and Mr. Berselli define qualified small business stock, explain how it can help owners of certain businesses and provide helpful tips on how to maximize QSBS exemptions.

"Qualified Small Business Stock (QSBS) is stock in certain C Corporations afforded favorable income tax treatment under Internal Revenue Code (IRC or Code) Section 1202. Code Section 1202 was enacted in 1993 to provide an incentive to invest in small businesses," they said.
