Experts Invited by CAMIPA Presented Their Perspectives on the Panama Copper Case

Energy attorney José Vicente Zapata was quoted in an article published by El Digital Panamá about the Magisterial Conference organized by the Panama Mining Chamber (CAMIPA). Mr. Zapata presented an analysis of the Panama Copper Case during his speech and emphasized the opportunity that is opening up to reach a solution in the midst of the legal complexity tied to the ruling of the country's Supreme Court.

"The discussion is very complex for both parties and the recommendation is to sit down and discuss how to solve the issue so that an effective and sustainable project can be developed. Whenever contracts that generate legal discussions are renegotiated, there is a renegotiation of economic terms," he said. "Therefore, there are more and more negotiations of this type and those that are linked to the environmental, social and political change aspects."
