Inertia Is Noticed in the Tax Examination Plan of SAT

Tax attorney Mario Barrera was cited in an article published by Reforma discussing the 2023 Master Plan for Examination and Collection of the Tax Administration Service (SAT) in Mexico. Mr. Barrera commented that this plan is basically a continuation of what has been done in previous years and that it does not present any effort to include those who work informally in the taxpayer base. He added that the treasury measures will continue with the same or greater intensity because no new taxes or rates have been set for this year.

"The emphasis will continue there, on the contrary, there is no effort to bring informality to formality and therefore the payment of taxes," Mr. Barrera said.
