How AI Could Change W&H Compliance
Labor, Employment and Benefits attorney Sara Schretenthaler Staha spoke with Law360 about the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on employment law. She commented on AI’s potential to both ameliorate and propagate pay disparity. For example, algorithms offer an opportunity to combat pay discrimination by allowing large employers to compare people across similar roles and find outliers, she explained.
"I think you can hopefully use AI to really evaluate data quickly," she said. "You could use algorithms to find where there might be unequal pay between workers completing the same work so that you would be able to address those issues before there's a claim."
