First Live Local Act Project Approved in Miami-Dade County. All the Details.
Land Use attorney Pedro Gassant was quoted in a South Florida Business Journal article discussing Miami-Dade County's approval of the county's first project under Florida's new Live Local Act. Mr. Gassant represented Miami-based developer Resia in securing administrative approval under the Live Local Act for 948 apartments and retail near the Palmetto Metrorail Station in Medley. He noted that the Live Local Act streamlined the approval process and made it more efficient compared to requiring a public hearing.
"The Live Local Act made the process faster," he said. "It made this more efficient. You never know what would happen in a public hearing."
