Democrats Seek to Cement Energy Tax Rules Before 2024 Elections
Tax attorney Amish Shah was mentioned in a Bloomberg Law article about efforts from Congressional Democrats and the Biden Administration to make Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) energy tax credits permanent before the 2024 elections. The article highlights the rush to finalize guidance and regulations, as Republicans and former President Donald Trump have indicated they would seek to repeal or roll back the credits with wins in the executive and legislative. Mr. Shah noted the importance of the ongoing back-and-forth among lawmakers, the U.S. Department of the Treasury, IRS and U.S. Department of Energy in sorting out the complicated regulations.
"All of these sorts of discussions are helpful to getting to a place where developers and others can really build the facilities and energy facilities that we're trying to have developed under the IRA," he said.
