"The Issue of Subsidies Is Very Simple, They Must Exist for the Population That Needs Them"
Labor and employment attorney Camilo Cuervo was cited in an article published by La República where Miguel Largacha, president of the board of directors of Asofonodos and president of Porvenir, was interviewed. In the interview, Mr. Largacha explained the importance of a pension reform based on savings and the need to understand the reality of the Colombian labor market to achieve greater coverage. He also expressed his opinion on topics such as the management of the public fund, the profitability of the corporate administrators of pension funds (AFPs), the transition regime, the impact of the threshold on national savings, the relationship between the pension and labor reform, the treatment of subsidies and the pension age in the individual savings scheme. Mr. Cuervo commented on the management of the public funds.
"Bonilla suggested that this public fund could be in the hands of the National Savings Fund, that shows that Colpensiones does not have the capacity to manage it," said Mr. Cuervo.
