Firms Offer Crisis and Political Risk Management for Clients Whipsawed by Washington

Corporate Counsel

Public Policy & Regulation attorney Rich Gold and data privacy attorney Rachel Marmor were featured in an article by Corporate Counsel on Holland & Knight's launch of a crisis and political risk management team to help clients navigate fast-changing federal policy and enforcement dynamics.

"We started getting calls to help companies position on major initiatives that the C-suite wanted to undertake in terms of what would be the impact, what would be the reaction of the federal government and what would be the reaction of state governments," Mr. Gold said when explaining the team's origins.

Ms. Marmor provided an example of how the group assists clients, describing how she advised a highly regulated telecommunications company on refining responsible artificial intelligence (AI) policies, noting the matter required special attention to the language used to avoid attracting unwanted federal scrutiny.

They also highlighted how the team integrates legal, communications and policy counsel to mitigate risk amid shifting rules on politically sensitive issues.
