Bryan S. Gadol, Taylor K. Maun and David Sutton Share Insights on Private Equity and M&A Strategies
Bryan Gadol, head of Holland & Knight's California Corporate, M&A and Private Equity Practice, was featured in a Q&A with the Los Angeles Times on trends shaping private equity and mergers and acquisitions (M&A). He noted that post‑pandemic supply chain instability, higher interest rates and shifting tariff policies are prompting more equity‑heavy structures, deeper diligence in trade‑exposed sectors and added regulatory complexity that can delay deals, particularly in California's market. Mr. Gadol additionally explained how financing dynamics are reshaping deal structures and value‑creation strategies, emphasizing that "preparation is the key" to a successful exit or acquisition. Previewing opportunities ahead, he predicted an increase in deal volume in the space, especially in California.
"With a significant amount of dry powder on the sidelines, private equity firms are under pressure to deploy capital – especially after a prolonged slowdown," he said. "California, with its innovation-led sectors, is well-positioned to attract this capital."
