Holland & Knight Named "Biggest Mover" in Latin America Infrastructure Finance Rankings by IJGlobal
MEXICO CITY (January 31, 2017) – Holland & Knight was named the "biggest mover" on IJGlobal’s 2016 league tables in the area of Latin America infrastructure finance. The annual rankings include information on the largest infrastructure projects in the region, along with details about the transaction value, type of financing, sponsors and advisors.
From 2015 to 2016, Holland & Knight moved from 39th on the list of legal advisors to 8th. The firm acted as advisor in several major infrastructure deals in Latin America during the past year.
Five of the infrastructure deals Holland & Knight handled were on behalf of Colombia's infrastructure development bank, Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional. A team led by Partners Norberto E. Quintana in New York and Enrique Gómez-Pinzón in Bogotá advised the bank on a series of project finance transactions, all aimed at financing toll roads in Colombia to be built and operated under a public-private partnership concession model. The transactions involved investments totaling around $2.3 billion and helped to finance the creation or improvement of toll roads that are part of Colombia's fourth-generation (4G) road infrastructure plan.
