Vivian de las Cuevas-Diaz Appointed to Florida State University Board of Trustees
She is the first Hispanic woman to be appointed
MIAMI (July 6, 2021) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis recently appointed Holland & Knight Partner Vivian de las Cuevas-Diaz to the Florida State University (FSU) Board of Trustees. She is the first Hispanic woman to be appointed to that role.
The FSU Board of Trustees is the 13-member governing board for the university. It sets policy for the institution and serves as the institution's legal owner and governing board.
Ms. de las Cuevas-Diaz, who is an alumna of Florida State University, is a partner in Holland & Knight’s Miami office and serves as deputy section leader of the firm’s national Real Estate Section. She has experience representing developers in a range of projects, including land development, multifamily, condominium, office and single-family development and hotels. She also handles the financing for these types of developments. She is recognized as a leading real estate attorney by Chambers USA, The Best Lawyers in America and The Legal 500.
Ms. de las Cuevas-Diaz is a past president of the Cuban American Bar Association and member of the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission for the Southern District. She also serves as a member of the Tulane University Law School Board of Directors.
Additionally, Ms. de las Cuevas-Diaz volunteers with the Coral Gables Community Foundation, Beacon Council, Commercial Real Estate Women of Miami and the Latin Builders Association. She is a graduate of Leadership Florida.
