Overview

Laura Askinazi is an attorney in Holland & Knight's New York office and a member of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice. Ms. Askinazi handles complex commercial disputes – with a particular focus on antitrust, maritime law and class actions – and represents clients across a range of industries in federal and state court and arbitration proceedings.

Ms. Askinazi possesses comprehensive experience across all phases of litigation. She develops affirmative and defensive strategies for depositions, hearings and arbitration proceedings, as well as manages all aspects of discovery, including electronic discovery issues.

In addition, Ms. Askinazi maintains an active pro bono practice focused on assisting individuals and families with a range of U.S. immigration matters, including applications for refugee status, guardianship and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Askinazi held positions in public affairs and advocacy. Her work included assessing compliance risks for multinational corporations, gathering competitive intelligence to guide strategic mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the defense sector and advising clients on evolving regulatory and political landscapes in cybersecurity.

Ms. Askinazi leverages her international background and brings a global perspective to her practice. Born and raised in France, she has worked in the corporate and antitrust departments of AmLaw 200 firms in France and Luxembourg. In these roles, she supported cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions, guided corporate restructurings within the European market, and prepared filings for regulatory approvals before European and national competition authorities.

While in law school, Ms. Askinazi represented children in due process hearings through a legal clinic and contributed to a public policy project for the U.S. Department of Education aimed at safeguarding children's rights.
