Overview
Aria Austin is a public affairs advisor in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the Public Policy & Regulation Group. Ms. Austin advises clients on navigating congressional and regulatory dynamics, and she provides guidance on matters related to emerging technologies and defense, drawing on her extensive experience in legislative strategy, appropriations processes and coalition-building on Capitol Hill.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Austin worked as a legislative aide in the U.S. Senate, where she managed a diverse policy portfolio, including artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology, telecommunications, energy, manufacturing and trade. Ms. Austin's experience included supporting work before the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, as well as the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.
Ms. Austin also previously served as president of the Senate Black Legislative Staff Caucus, where she strengthened bipartisan collaboration on Capitol Hill and cross-sector engagement. In addition, she served as a public policy fellow at a global law firm, supporting government affairs and public policy initiatives across a range of issue areas. She also served as a congressional intern for a member of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Armed Services and House Committee on Homeland Security.
