Alexandra B. Kúsulas is an international trade lawyer in Holland & Knight's Mexico City office. Ms. Kúsulas focuses her practice on international trade and customs matters for a variety of industries, including automotive, textile, steel, chemical and food products.

Ms. Kúsulas is knowledgeable in the area of foreign trade focused on the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), as well as the basic principles of intellectual property taught by the World Trade Organization (WTO). She also has familiarity with other WTO law issues, having participated as an arbitrator in the John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition.

In addition, Ms. Kúsulas' experience includes work with antidumping procedures, regulatory investigations, litigation and formulation of operational strategies for international companies that have started operations in Mexico.

Ms. Kúsulas has actively participated in litigation related to the suspension and cancellation of promotional programs, such as value added tax (VAT) bonds, and VAT and excise tax on products and services (Impuesto Especial sobre Producción y Servicios or IEPS) certifications for companies with Maquiladora, Manufacturing and Export Services Industry (IMMEX) programs. She also assists with preventive audits for companies that wish to comply with their tax and customs obligations.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Kúsulas worked as an international trade and customs lawyer at other prominent Mexico City law firms, where she assisted in advising various clients on trade remedies, USMCA implementation, local administrative procedures related to rules of origin compliance and updating clients on international trade regulations.
