Christie Masanka

Overview
Christie M. Masanka is an intellectual property (IP) attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office. Ms. Masanka focuses her practice on a variety of IP matters, with a particular focus on IP licensing, data privacy and technology transactions.
Ms. Masanka has experience counseling clients on product development, including early-stage identification of risks and implementation of privacy-by-design principles. She also reviews and drafts various business contracts, including nondisclosure agreements (NDAs), terms of service and privacy policies for diverse startups. In addition, she counsels clients in founder disputes, as well as regarding the practical and legal aspects of strategic business planning.
While in law school, Ms. Masanka was a student attorney for the BU/MIT Student Innovations Law Clinic, a free and confidential legal service for students who seek legal assistance related to their research, advocacy and creative projects. In the clinic, Ms. Masanka provided counseling and representation in areas such as IP and media; privacy, security and health; and venture and finance. Ms. Masanka also served as an editor for the International Law Journal and secretary of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA).
