Overview

David Powers is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Boston office. Mr. Powers counsels private equity sponsors and high-growth businesses across the full spectrum of corporate and transactional matters. He provides strategic corporate and securities guidance to emerging growth and middle-market companies, helping clients navigate complex transactions and evolving regulatory landscapes.

Mr. Powers has extensive experience representing private equity and growth equity sponsors in connection with platform and add-on acquisitions, as well as primary and secondary investments, including private tender offers. He advises public and private companies, including portfolio companies, on a broad range of matters, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate finance transactions, corporate governance and securities law governance.

Mr. Powers regularly advises clients in a diverse array of industries, including software for a variety of industrial applications, information technology, business and information services, artificial intelligence (AI), healthcare, education and consumer products.

Mr. Powers serves as trusted counsel to boards of directors on corporate governance and fiduciary matters. He also advises companies on intellectual property (IP) matters, technology licensing, development and distribution arrangements.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Powers is a frequent speaker on corporate and private equity matters for various events and organizations, including Harvard Business School's annual Venture Capital and Private Equity Conference and the Association for Corporate Growth Boston.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Powers was an attorney at a multinational law firm in its Boston office.
