Overview
Jina Shin is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office and a member of the International Trade Group. Ms. Shin focuses her practice on a broad range of international trade and national security matters, including those related to export controls, U.S. customs laws and tariff mitigation, foreign investment and economic sanctions.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Shin worked as a paralegal in the Washington, D.C., office of another large international law firm and handled structured finance and national security matters. Previously, she completed a legal internship with the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Subcommittee on Civil Rights and Civil Liberties.
While in law school, Ms. Shin served as the online development editor and a submissions review editor for the Virginia Journal of International Law and externed as a law clerk for the Honorable Richard E. Moore of the Charlottesville Circuit Court. She participated in the International Human Rights Law Clinic, working with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, and assisted in pro bono work by preparing asylum applications for Afghan refugees. Ms. Shin also participated in the Sciences Po Human Rights, Economic Development and Globalization (HEDG) law clinic, working with an international nonprofit organization on a matter related to the right to education.
