June L. Marshall

June L. Marshall is a real estate attorney in Holland & Knight's Washington, D.C., office.

Ms. Marshall has extensive experience in multifamily and mixed-use real estate development, including the acquisition and disposition of real property, the creation of residential, mixed-use and commercial condominium regimes and leasing. She counsels real estate developers, development companies, affordable housing developers and residential associations. She is well versed in complex condominium related matters and cooperatives, as well as drafting covenants, reciprocal easement agreements, and purchase and sale agreements. Ms. Marshall also represents financial institutions and lenders in commercial real estate transactions and is a member of the firm's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Team, focusing on real estate, green building and sustainability matters.

Ms. Marshall's practice includes advising clients on the District of Columbia Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act (TOPA) and the District Opportunity to Purchase Act (DOPA) during the sale, purchase and redevelopment of multifamily and low-income housing tax credit rental properties.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Marshall serves as the co-chair of Holland & Knight's Women's Initiative in the Washington, D.C., office.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Ms. Marshall worked at a boutique real estate law firm, where her practice included condominium development. She also represented individuals, business entities and nonprofit organizations in civil litigation, appellate and District of Columbia agency matters, primarily in the areas of real estate law, including premise liability, personal injury, TOPA and real property disputes.

In addition, Ms. Marshall served as a law clerk for the Honorable Stephanie Duncan-Peters of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. In this role, she drafted orders and opinions that resolved legal issues in both civil and criminal law.

Representative Experience

• Served as transactional counsel on behalf of a seller in the disposition of its 46,200-square-foot, two-story data center in the District of Columbia for a sales price of $16.7 million to a purchaser who in turn leased the site to a D.C. government technology agency
• Served as transactional counsel on behalf of a seller in the disposition of its ± 200,000 square-foot retail shopping center in Virginia for a sales price of $20,825,000.00
• Created homeowners association (HOA) governing documents and reciprocal easement agreements for a newly constructed multimillion-dollar luxury single-family home residential community in the District of Columbia that used sustainable and green landscape and building design
• Represented a large international trade association as landlord's counsel in lease negotiations of office space at its headquarters
• Created a complex affordable and market-rate condominium regime at the former Sursum Corda Housing Cooperative in the District of Columbia during the complete redevelopment of the site
