In the second half of 2025, the U.S., Mexico and Canada will begin a historic effort to renegotiate the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), a trade pact that covers $1.8 trillion in traded goods and services, impacts every sector of three major economies and sets the rules for North American trade.

Mr. Childress served as assistant general counsel with the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR), the agency charged with leading USMCA negotiations for the U.S., during both Trump Administrations and the Biden Administration. At USTR, Mr. Childress was the lead lawyer for USMCA implementation and regional trade issues related to Canada and Mexico.
