FinCEN Targets South Florida's Skyline

Financial Service Attorneys Andres Fernandez and Elena Otero published an article to the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) Briefs on the topic of Geographic Targeting Orders (GTOs) issued by the U.S. Department of Treasury Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). According to FinCEN, GTOs are temporarily issued for insurance companies to identify “the natural persons behind companies used to pay all cash” within high-end real estates in New York and Florida. There are concerns on whether or not GTOs will be temporary or permanent within the real estate sector.
