What's Ahead for the FCPA in 2019?

The Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) has experienced an increase in enforcement since 2001. At the start of every new year, FCPA practitioners wonder the same question: What will happen now?

In 2019, FCPA enforcement is predicted to increase. Last year was the second highest year for assessed penalties, including two of the six largest FCPA penalties in their history. Additionally, practitioners believe policies will change, but they do not expect major alterations. Lastly, the growth of international cooperation with foreign authorities will continue.
