New Criteria for Calculating Compensation for Easements in Colombia

Environment attorneys Milton Montoya and Ernesto Guzmán published a column in Lexir where they detailed the Resolution 1092 of the Geographic Institute Agustín Codazzi (IGAC), an environmental treaty that seeks to establish new guidelines and procedures that must be carried out by virtually all those responsible for property management that are within the framework of voluntary negotiation and in the process of acquisition of easement by judicial or administrative means. The authors explain how this will impact appraisals of legal easements and temporary affectations of projects declared by the legislator.
