Are You Ready to Hand Over Your Card Using Electronic Means?

Legal Industry Reviews (LIR) Mexico
Aldo González | Santiago Noriega

Financial Services attorneys Aldo González and Santiago Noriega published an article in Legal Industry Reviews about a bill that reforms, adds and repeals various provisions of the General Law of Negotiable Instruments and Credit Transactions (LGTOC) in Mexico. This reform includes modifications regarding promissory notes, negotiable instruments and other financial transactions using electronic means. In this article, Mr. González and Mr. Noriega analyze the most relevant changes in the bill and explain why the reform represents a necessary step forward to offer greater legal certainty to the execution of credit transactions and to the negotiability of negotiable instruments that are executed through electronic means and other technologies.

The authors also published a Holland & Knight client alert on this topic.
