Biden Pledged to Undo Trump's Immigration Policies. It Will Take Time.

Immigration Partner Leon Fresco was cited in a Politico article about how President-Elect Joe Biden will approach immigration policy, specifically how he will attempt to reverse policies enacted under the Trump Administration. Although some changes will happen swiftly and easily, others will be much more difficult, potentially taking years to be enacted. Mr. Fresco, who previously worked in the Obama Administration, described how bureaucratic realities and competing priorities will complicate the process.

"The majority of the Trump administration immigration reforms will be difficult to address immediately either because of legal rule-making barriers, practical realities on the ground or a lack of bandwidth given how many priorities the Biden administration has in contrast to the singular focus on immigration the Trump immigration had," he explained.
