Did the Ministry of Mining Find Happy Numbers Regarding Gas Reserves?
Energy attorney Inés Elvira Vesga was interviewed by El Colombiano about the recent announcement of a possible increase in natural gas reserves in Colombia. The country's Minister of Mines and Energy, Irene Vélez, indicated that regarding natural gas reserves, the country would have remnants that would ensure its energy self-sufficiency for 20 years. Ms. Vesga said the calculation of natural gas reserves is made annually by the Ministry of Mines and Energy based on technical criteria. "It is important that the government celebrates the possible increase in reserves, because this should lead to an understanding of the importance to continue to explore and which are the necessary measures to do so," she said.
