Financial Superintendence of Colombia Reinforces the Path for Interoperable QR Code

Financial attorney Juan Felipe Fontecha was quoted in an article by Iupana about the progress made in Colombian regulation on payment systems, particularly in relation to the recent issuance of a new policy, through which the Financial Superintendence of Colombia advances in the interoperability and homogenization of operations that supervised entities carry out through QR codes. Mr. Fontecha commented that the main challenges revolve around achieving effective adaptation by the different actors, which have been selected to unify the operational and technical language of operations through QR codes.

"[Regulators are focusing on] advancing toward the achievement and implementation of an immediate payment system that undoubtedly requires the homogenization of technological and operational standards that allow us to reach it," he said.
