Private Funds CFO

Healthcare Transactions attorney John Saran was cited in a Private Funds CFO article discussing the potential impact of new legislation in California, a major economy, on private fund takeovers in the healthcare industry. The article quoted a LinkedIn post Mr. Saran made highlighting that the proposed bill, which aims to give the state's attorney general the authority to review and approve these takeovers, is part of a broader legislative trend across the U.S. Despite prior successful opposition by private funds, Mr. Saran noted that it's uncertain if federal agencies such as the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) will be any more lenient toward the industry amid hopes for a resurgence in mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

"While not new, this bill could ride the momentum of the new wave of…legislation sweeping the country," he said.
