Overview
Sam Jacobs is a corporate attorney in Holland & Knight's Nashville office and a member of the Healthcare Transactions Team. Mr. Jacobs focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and other strategic transactions across the healthcare as well as transportation and logistics industries.
Mr. Jacobs represents private equity firms, operating companies, founders and investors in buy-side and sell-side M&A, joint ventures, dispositions and private equity investments. In the healthcare sector, he works extensively on transactions involving single-specialty and multispecialty medical practices, including dental and dental services organizations (DSOs), ophthalmology, wound care, chiropractic and other provider platforms.
In addition to his healthcare practice, Mr. Jacobs advises transportation and logistics companies on middle-market and private equity-backed transactions, with a particular focus on asset-light, tech-enabled businesses such as third-party logistics (3PLs), fourth-party logistics (4PLs), freight brokerages, managed transportation platforms and logistics technology providers.
Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Jacobs served as in-house counsel for a leading regional outpatient physical therapy clinic, where he navigated Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law and False Claims Act (FCA) matters while structuring deals. Previously, he worked with an international accounting firm, where he focused on data privacy matters.
