Overview

Jennifer Lada is a partner at Holland & Knight's New York office, where she provides strategic legal counsel for both international and domestic clients. Ms. Lada's experience encompasses representing and advising clients through complex commercial litigation, including antitrust, labor and employment issues, shareholder disputes, business torts and class action matters.

Ms. Lada's business litigation practice covers trial and appellate work in federal and state courts, as well as representing clients in arbitration proceedings. In her labor and employment practice, Ms. Lada advises companies on enforcing restrictive covenants and trade secrets and addresses issues of discrimination, retaliation, harassment and wrongful termination. Her advisory role extends to conducting highly confidential internal investigations, helping companies manage employee misconduct and internal claims.

In addition, Ms. Lada has significant experience representing clients in the healthcare and life sciences, financial services and technology industries in regard to litigation, risk management and investigations.

Recent highlights of Ms. Lada's experience includes:

  • defended an international franchise company against multiple class action lawsuits alleging anticompetitive conduct under the U.S. Sherman Act, specifically related to residential real estate sales
  • represented a major healthcare company in federal antitrust lawsuits, addressing allegations of U.S. Sherman Act violations due to the use of noncompete agreements
  • secured a favorable U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit opinion affirming a summary judgment secured at the trial level for a national telecommunications client
  • advised and conducted highly confidential internal investigations for large corporations into various employee misconduct issues
  • delivered strategic legal counsel to majority shareholders, officers and directors, leading to a successful defense summary judgment in cases involving breach of fiduciary duty claims

Born and raised in France, Ms. Lada is fluent in French and has substantial experience advising French, Canadian and European companies and individuals in disputes across the United States.

In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Lada maintains an active pro bono practice. She frequently provides pro bono assistance to clients seeking asylum and clients seeking the return of children under the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction.

Prior to practicing law, Ms. Lada competed as a tennis NCAA Division I student-athlete.
