Stacey H. Wang is a partner in Holland & Knight's Los Angeles office and a member of the West Coast Litigation Group, Compliance Services Team, and White Collar Defense and Investigations Team.

Ms. Wang represents domestic and foreign businesses in complex commercial and intellectual property matters, such as infringement, trade secret theft, product liability, business fraud and unfair competition actions, including defending against advertising/business practice class actions. She also represents companies and individuals involved in criminal and regulatory investigations, including in SEC investigations, as well as in parallel civil False Claims Act and private securities cases. She has served as a volunteer deputy district attorney for the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, where she has tried jury cases to verdict.

In the legal community, Ms. Wang was one of 14 lawyers recognized with the Best Lawyers Under 40 award by the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. She previously was recognized as a Rising Star in Business Litigation by Southern California Super Lawyers magazine. Ms. Wang is a past president of the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA), one of the oldest Asian-American bar associations in the country, and a former board member of the Asian Pacific American Bar Association (APABA). She has served on the American Bar Association (ABA) Litigation Section's Federal Practice Task Force, which initiates and considers revisions to the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. She is a past chair of the ABA Tort Trial and Insurance Practice Section's (TIPS) International Law Committee.

Within the firm, Ms. Wang was one of five women selected in 2014 to the firm's "Rising Star" women's initiative program. She previously was selected as the litigation Chesterfield Smith Fellow and spent one year litigating high-profile pro bono matters across the country. She currently serves as the Public and Charitable Service partner for the Los Angeles office and the firmwide pro bono coordinator for cases referred by Kids in Need of Defense, a pro bono initiative that aims to provide legal representation to unaccompanied children in removal proceedings. She also chairs the firm's Asian/Pacific Islander Affinity Group, sits on the Diversity Council, and is a member of the firm's Diversity and Inclusion Engagement Initiative.

Ms. Wang was a judicial extern to the Honorable Margaret M. Morrow of the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. She also served as a state bar-certified extern for the Civil Licensing Section of the California Attorney General's Office, where she prosecuted licensing cases. Other law school activities include being selected to compete in Vienna, Austria, in the Willem C. Vis International Moot Arbitration competition and serving as the chief copy (articles) editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles International & Comparative Law Review.

  • Defended global business telecommunications company and retailers in copyright infringement, breach of license, and trade secret misappropriation claims brought by software company in Delaware
  • Defended global toy brand in an inventor dispute regarding the alleged misappropriation of trade secrets under the California Uniform Trade Secrets Act and the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016
  • Defended national printing company in defending against trade secret misappropriation allegations asserted by a competitor following the hiring of competitor's executive
  • Represented companies in trademark infringement actions in the areas of sporting goods, pet toys and medical supplies
  • Represented global fine dinnerware brand in trade dress infringement litigation to protect the company's best-selling premier tableware line
  • Represented foreign semiconductor company in LED patent infringement litigation

  • Represented lenders and businesses in breach of guaranty and financial fraud cases
  • Defended foreign television importer and executive against fraud and racketeering claims involving foreign export insurance guaranty transactions
  • Represented wine brand in breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation action against winemaker over spoilage and contamination of various wines
  • Represented companies in breach of supply contracts, licensing agreements, consulting agreements, and investment agreements
  • Represented chemical manufacturer and tree service contractor in False Claims Act cases

Advertising Litigation and Class Actions

  • Defended manufacturers and retailers in false advertising representative and class actions asserted under the California Consumers Legal Remedies Act and Unfair Competition Law, including alleged misrepresentations regarding certain fees made on websites, battery life in electronic devices, and "Made in USA" claims.

Product Liability Defense

  • Defended national logistics companies in toxic tort action alleging injuries from exposure to pollutants in the Port of Long Beach by residents near the port; served as liaison counsel on behalf of trucking defendants
  • Defended foreign chemical manufacturer in toxic tort action alleging injuries from occupational exposure to various insecticides, herbicides and fungicides
  • Defended global bioscience company in multiple toxic tort actions alleging injuries from exposure to various food flavoring chemicals, including diacetyl

Government and Internal Investigations

  • Represented companies and individuals in criminal antitrust and fraud investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice's Antitrust Division; represented companies in responding to SEC subpoenas; represented subjects in parallel SEC regulatory and FBI criminal fraud investigations; represented company in U.S. Food and Drug Administration investigation
